Gerald Quintana Obituary

Gerald "Jerry" L. Quintana

On Saturday, March 06, 2021 Gerald "Jerry" L. Quintana, loving, husband, father, grandfather and friend passed away at the age of 78.

Jerry was born in Antonito, CO on October 03, 1942 to Luis and Manuelita Quintana. He was raised in Antonito until he graduated high school in 1960, and joined the United States Air Force in January of 1961. He married his wife of over 60 years, Ruby Cruz Quintana, on November 03, 1961. They had 3 children together. Jerry served 8 years in the USAF, including service in Vietnam and the US Pentagon. He achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant. In 1968 he began his career in corporate finance. He and his family moved throughout the United States and eventually returned to Albuquerque, NM. He and Ruby owned a travel agency for over 13 years and retired in 2002. They enjoyed traveling extensively throughout the United States and much of the world.

Jerry loved to camp, fish, play pool and golf. He was also a proud member of "La Perrada" golf group. What brought Jerry the most joy was spending time with his large extended family and friends, most especially his beloved eight grandchildren. He was known for his great sense of humor and his generous nature.

He was preceded in death by his father Luis, mother Manuelita and older brother Gene. He is survived by his wife Ruby, his children, Dennis (Sonia) Quintana, Tricia (Kerry) Chamberlain, Timothy (Kim) Quintana, his eight grandchildren, Hannah, Tristan, Mateo, Tuesday, Nicholas, Oona, Aja and Branden. He is also survived by his brothers Mike, Rafael and Leonard, and many nieces, nephews and extended family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
