Condolences to Herb Hughes's family. I first met him and his family at Immanuel Presbyterian Church as a child. He was always understanding and caring. I had followed his career since a child and sad to hear of his passing. all the best to his family.

I had the pleasure of serving alongside Herb on the Albuquerque City Council from 1985 - 1989. Herb was a man of true integrity and cared deeply about our city. I learned so much from him and so enjoyed his many stories about coaching football in Florida and his relationship with Buddy Reynolds # 32 who went on to become Burt Reynolds when he got to Hollywood. Herb will be sorely missed but his legacy will live on! RIP my friend.

So sorry to hear of Herb's passing. He had a long, influential life and leaves a legacy that will truly live on. I met Herb at Bernalillo County gov when he was Assistant County Manger (1980s) and a valued mentor to me (and many others.) I last saw him and Nancy at their home a few years ago. Throughout his varied roles in local and state government, he was truly a man of integrity who deeply cared about New Mexico, our community and future. We are fortunate for his distinguished public service. May he be at peace now.
