James Scanlon Obituary

James William Scanlon, Jr

James William Scanlon Jr. passed away peacefully after a battle with Dementia on February 27th 2025. His family was by his side. The biggest Alabama fan out there, Jim was born to Effie Elizabeth Pinckard and James William Scanlon on August 10th 1946 in Troy, Alabama.

He grew up in Farmington, NM, where he met and married his childhood sweetheart, Cyndy Stoabs. He completed his college degree in Business at Eastern New Mexico. After graduating, he landed a job with First National Bank, in Alb. His real love of baseball never left as he played club ball, lots of golf, loved barbecuing in his backyard in the North Valley, and visited places most of us have never heard of.

He is preceded in death by his mother and father, and many aunts and uncles.

He is survived by his beautiful loving wife of 60 years, Cyndy; three daughters, Monyca and her husband Pat McWethy, Mysha, Mone'e and her husband Mike Korbas; and his son, Matt and eight grandchildren. His sister, Kaye Admire; and brother-in-law, Brian; nephew, Keith; and nieces, Robyn and Emily. A burial for family will be at Memory Gardens in Farmington, NM and a celebration of his life will be held in Albuquerque in June.
