JoAnn M. Huddleston



Huddleston, JoAnn M., born in High Coal, West Virginia on Tuesday, November 9, 1939, to Edward "Paul" and Goldie Mae McConnell. JoAnn had two brothers, Ronald Dean and Kenneth Raymond McConnell; all deceased. When she was about seven years old, her family moved to Raton, New Mexico where she met her husband, Allan R. Huddleston. They married on Saturday, June 20, 1959. They had just celebrated their 62nd Anniversary.

They have three children and four grandchildren: Lori Lynn Welsh -Terence (Morganne); Robert Allan Huddleston -Kellie Lynn (Jordan, Jamie and Melissa) and Buster Paul Huddleston -Kelly (Brianna, Amanda and Aaron). She has many nieces and nephews and one surviving aunt, Dorothy "Dot" Oge, 93 from her mother's family.

JoAnn was a member of Grace UMC formerly Harwood UMC where she was active in the Grace Free Store. She loved volunteering at the store. She loved doing crafts and completing crossword/sudoku puzzles. She loved trivia and could answer most of the Jeopardy questions. She will be remembered as being very loving, strong, funny, kind, always there, always prepared, never met a stranger, and a smile that lit up the room. She was there for as many of her grandchildren's birthdays as she could. Creativity sprung to life as she made every castle, truck, and musical instrument cake her grandchildren could imagined, and she did it with ease. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She passed away on August 16th, 2021 at her home.

There was a visitation at FRENCH- University on Tuesday, August 24, 2021, 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, August 24, 2021 at Grace United Methodist Church, 420 San Lorenzo Ave NW, at 11:00 a.m., with a small reception to follow. She will be buried at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd NE.
