Jon Gregg Obituary
January 17, 2023, Jon Gregg, age 65, passed away with his family by his side after a courageous battle with cancer. Born October 8, 1957, in Kansas City, Missouri, his family moved to Placitas, New Mexico during his early childhood.
Jon built his 20-year business of constructing tennis courts for residential and resort development. Afterwards he began working all over the world in natural resources, developing an extensive knowledge of all varieties of wood. Jon and his wife, Margaret, blended their talents and built their home in Placitas for which they received the New Mexico Green Built Award for 2011. Jon also served on his community acequia board for many years.
Preceded in death by his parents, Mary Elizabeth and Russell Wayne Gregg, and brother, Carl Wayne Gregg. Jon is survived by his wife, Margaret Spector Gregg, sons Jon (Kelsey Rosen) Gregg of Pena Blanca, New Mexico and Nathan (Brandon Dearlove) Gregg of Tacoma, Washington, stepsons Sam (Jill) Spector of Salt Lake City, Utah and Ben (Anna Beck) Spector of New York City, New York; brothers Timothy (Christine) Gregg of Weddington, North Carolina, Michael (Jennifer) Gregg of Placitas, New Mexico and Tony (Jamie) Jackson of Sitka, Alaska; nieces and nephews Hannah Gregg of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Andrea Gregg of Austin, Texas, Timothy (Maggie) Gregg of Indian Land, South Carolina, and Jesse (Misty) Gregg of Burleson, Texas, and two granddaughters.
A Celebration of Life will take place Saturday, March 4, 2023, at 11:00AM at Las Placitas Presbyterian
Church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Las Placitas Presbyterian Church or a favorite charity.
