Jose Llamas Obituary
Jose S. "Joe" Llamas, age 91, passed away Thursday, December 1, 2016. He was born in Santa Rita, New Mexico on August 11, 1925, to Octoviano and Andrea Llamas.
He was preceded in death by his brothers Toby and Jesus; sisters Andrea and Maria.
Joe is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Pilar (Hernandez) Llamas of Albuquerque, NM; his sons, Jose Simon Llamas of Albuquerque, NM and David Luis Llamas of Los Lunas, NM; his sister Juana; brother Hilario, as well as nieces and nephews of Santa Rita, NM, who will all miss him more than words can express.
Joe graduated from the University of New Mexico with a Bachelors degree in Engineering. He was in Germany for three years while serving his country in the U.S. Army Air Corp. in World War II. His career in engineering lead him to Sandia Laboratories where he worked for 35 years before retiring. He enjoyed golfing with his three buddies and square dancing. Joe was a member of Queen of Heaven Parish.
A Rosary will be held Wednesday, December 7, 9:30am - at Queen of Heaven Church, 5311 Phoenix Ave NE, Albuquerque, NM. Mass of Christian burial will follow the Rosary at 10:00am, at Queen of Heaven Church.
