Kenneth Leon

Wiley, 93, passed away on July 19th, 2021. He was born October 25, 1927 in a small town in Southwestern Oklahoma, and had been a resident of Albuquerque since 1937.

He was preceded in death by his Mother and Father, Mabel and John Wiley, his brother brother Glen, his sister Juanita, his daughter Terri, his son Jerry and wife Betty. He has survived every member of his immediate family. He was a two-time Veteran, having served in the U.S. Merchant Marine during WW2, and in the U. S. Air Force in Korea. He received many campaign awards and decorations while serving his beloved country. He retired from Sandia Laboratories after more than 42 years of service, which included a 4 year military leave. While at Sandia he worked in a field operation support division, which lead him to many ineresting assignments at various locations.

He was an avid auto racing enthusiast and was an original driver at Speedway Park, and a charter member of the New Mexico Motor Racing Association (NMMRA). He also enjoyed many other sports, which included; fishing, bowling and travel.

Services have already been held. He is put to rest at Sunset Memorial Park at 724 Menual NE. He is now with his family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may

be made to the the the Alzheimer's Association Albuquerque branch.

I met Ken very early in my Sandia career and was impressed by his knowledge and kindness in helping me understand the Sandia financial system. I know he will be missed by all who knew him!!
