Leslie Luchetti Obituary
Leslie Albert Luchetti, our beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother, completed his life and work among us here on earth. He has gone to join his Savior Jesus Christ, his loving parents Joseph Albert and Violet Catanach Luchetti; brother Alan Luchetti and other precious family and friends who passed before him.
Les was born August 11, 1950 in Santa Fe.
He was the husband of Mary Ellen Drury Luchetti for 32 years until his death on October 8, 2015 at the home of his brother, Michael Eric Luchetti, surrounded by family and friends.
Les and Mary Ellen have one daughter, Ivy Marie Drury Luchetti. He is stepfather to Mary's two children from a previous marriage, Tanya Mackenzie (husband Ian) and Paul Keyes (wife Christina). His grandchildren are Orion and Madilyn Baca and Ian and David Graham. Les is also survived by his brother Craig Luchetti and wife Mary of Las Cruces; his sister Margo McKean and husband Roscoe (Red) of St. Louis; his brother Michael Eric Luchetti and wife Tina of Santa Fe; his sister and goddaughter Dana Luchetti of Rio Rancho; his mother's sister Eva Catanach Ortiz; and his mother's brother Paul Catanach, as well as his nieces and nephews Veronica, Craig, Joseph, Lynette, Celina, Jolene, Erica, Michael, and Eric along with many great nieces and nephews and other loving family members and friends.
Les graduated from Santa Fe High School and attended New Mexico State University for his bachelors. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War and returned to work for the U.S. Postal Service and the State of New Mexico as an appraiser for Taxation and Revenue.
He has struggled with a very complex and difficult medical history and his last eight years were very difficult. He was a good man and deserved the peaceful passing we all shared with him.
Rosary services will be held at 7:00 pm, Wednesday, October 14th at Berardinelli. Burial at the National Cemetery with Mass preceding at 9:00 am. Location of mass is pending because of holiday but you may call Berardinalli at 984-8600. Honorary Pallbearers are Larry Brock, Ray Martinez, Carlos Roybal, Jessie Martinez, Leroy Martinez, Antonio (Kikko) Baca.
In lieu of flowers, Les asked for donations to United Cerebral Palsy.

Leslie and I were classmates at Santa Fe High. The last time I saw him was in 2009 when we attended the funeral of another friend and classmate, Pete Garcia. My deepest sympathy to his family.

How can we forget such a great football player, friend and Letter "S" Club member. Leslie was tough as nails in practice and on the field, but he also had a soft, warm, giving and wonderful side to him. The team will never forget you Les. You made a difference to us all on and off the field.
