Lisa England Obituary

Lisa Marie England

9/8/66 - 9/7/18. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lisa Marie England, on Friday, September 7, 2018, in Phoenix, Arizona. Lisa grew up in the beautiful northwest valley of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Lisa attended school in Albuquerque, ultimately receiving her Master of Arts degree in Elementary Education from the University of New Mexico. Lisa married the love of her life, Randall Hart England, in 1995. The high point of her life was the birth of their son, Ryan Douglas England, in 2006.

Lisa became an art teacher, which was her passion in life. She loved ceramics and drawing. Her students artwork won many awards, and was displayed at the district office. Lisa never stopped looking for new ways to inspire her students, and often became involved in the lives of their families. Like her patron saint, St. Therese of Lisieux, Lisa did ordinary things with extraordinary love. She had a beautiful smile and a sweet sense of humor. Lisa's faith was her strength and refuge, especially during her battle with cancer. The family thanks all those who cared for her during her illness, especially the doctors and staff at the Mayo Clinic and Sherman House.

She is survived by her husband and son, Randall and Ryan England; parents Servando and Ernestine Gutierrez; sisters Kim and Debbie Gutierrez; niece Asia Gutierrez; aunts and uncles including Ruth and Louie Chavez, Rosemary Harris, Connie Dinnsen, Manuel Chavez, Connie Cavalier; cousins including Dana Ingram and Timothy Chavez, family friends Rosie Sandoval, J.R. Medina, and Devon and Elena Finnegan. Family, friends, and others whose lives Lisa touched are invited to Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary for a funeral Mass at 9:00 a.m., September 24th, with reception to follow.

I worked with Lisa with the Quest program at Palomino. She was devoted to our students. She always volunteered to do extra so that our students and families could have new and rewarding experiences. She was an excellent role model, and she lives on in the hearts and minds of the Palomino family.
