Lowell Wagner Obituary

Lowell Jerome Wagner

Lowell Jerome Wagner, 85, of Corrales, New Mexico, passed away peacefully on October 2, 2025. Born in Moorhead, Minnesota, on December 10, 1939, he was the son of Charles Oswald Wagner, Jr. and Edna Clara Rosenfeldt Wagner, and the youngest of three children.

He graduated from Moorhead High School, where he met his high-school sweetheart and first wife, Beverly Brewster Walker, who survives him and is the mother of their four children. Lowell built a respected legacy in Minnesota as a realtor, auctioneer, and commercial developer specializing in strip malls, grocery stores, and office buildings. He served as President of the Moorhead Board of Realtors, was named Realtor of the Year, and was active in the Jaycees.

In 1980, Lowell married Patricia Ann McVeety Wagner and shared nearly four decades of marriage until her passing in 2018. They moved to New Mexico in 1998, where he remained philanthropic and active in his faith. At Mountainside United Methodist Church, he helped lead the creation of the activity center, featuring a gym, kitchen, and performing arts stage, known as Wagner Hall, where his vision, strategic planning, and personal generosity were instrumental in bringing the project to life. Lowell was also an avid collector of antique firearms and toys, steam and hot-air engines, art and sculptures, and an exceptional Kachina collection.

He was preceded in death by his daughter Pamela Heidelberger (Rick) earlier this year and is survived by his children Todd Wagner (Kitty), Brenda Dennis (Doug), and Barbara Strother (Stuart), along with twelve grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Lowell was also preceded in death by his wife Patricia Wagner and her son Scott Sorenson and is survived by her children David Sorenson, Jane Way (Kevin), Tracy Venturi (Tego), James Sorenson, seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Lowell cherished his blended family of nine children, nineteen grandchildren, and fifteen great-grandchildren. He loved many and was deeply loved in return.

He asked us to thank his large and caring family, his cherished friends from the Mountainside United Methodist Church community, and the many friends around the world who shared his passion for collecting.

In lieu of flowers, please support the Wagner Family Charitable Fund, PO Box 342, Wallace, ID, 83873, or plant a tree in his honor.
