Our beautiful mother, Marie Dorothy Gutierrez passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 28, 2023, in the presence of her adoring and loving family. Dorothy has rejoined her husband of 42 years, Conrad Gutierrez in the Kingdom of Heaven. Her broken heart is finally healed as she missed him dearly.
She is survived by her three sons and their wives, Derek and Carolyn, Dominic and Crystle, Damian and Kristi; grandchildren, Danielle, Joey, Andrea, Alanna, Sarah, Ava, Lucas, Addison; and great-grandchildren, Catalina, Tre, Ovani and Ana' Malia. Dorothy's sisters include Tillie Gutierrez and husband Coy, Pearl and Al Trujillo, Patsy and Ron Maestas, Linda and Rick Burton, Enedean and Tony Garcia, Terry and Brian DeHerrera and Rose and Joe Zamora; additional sisters-in-law include Stella and Elva Lucero; and brother-in-law, Chano Martinez and many nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mom and dad, Agneda and Tilo Lucero, brothers, Marlo, Moises, and Phillip, and sister Della.
Dorothy was born in Anton Chico, NM and reared in Albuquerque. A lifelong resident of New Mexico and a graduate of Valley High School, she spent most of her life in Albuquerque's north valley. Dorothy loved spending time with her family the most, and gatherings often featured her homemade tortillas and red chile with pork or backyard barbecues.
She also enjoyed playing slow pitch softball for many years and it created friendships that she carried until her passing. Most recently she found joy in making custom greeting cards with friends and sisters, eating out with friends and family, and time with her beloved dogs Toodles and Oreo. A Celebration of Life is being planned and will be scheduled soon. We will miss our mom dearly but find comfort that she is now with the Lord and the love of her life, Conrad. Please

I met Dorothy from work at American Home. One of the sweetest nicest ladies. Always smiling, happy and helpful. I am sorry to hear of her passing and will pray for you, the family.

Dorothy and Connie moved into our neighborhood when I was a young teenager. They always visited with us and helped us and encouraged all of us kids. They were such good neighbors and friends, and we loved them dearly. Although I will miss Dorothy, just as I miss Connie, I am happy that they are finally together again. Much love and condolences to the entire family.
