Mary Moriarty Obituary

Mary Ann Moriarty

Mary Ann Moriarty (Toepper) passed away on Sunday, June 23, 2024 in Chandler, AZ with her children by her side. She was born on February 8, 1944 in Clayton, NM to Alvin and Marjorie (Brosier) Toepper. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Daniel (Dan) Moriarty Jr. and her brother Jerry Huffman.

She is survived by her cherished children Barbara Herrera and husband Stacy of Edgewood, Susan Strathman and husband Tyler of Chandler, AZ, and Patrick Moriarty and wife Lara of Rocklin, CA; her six amazing grandchildren, Ben Strathman, Abby Strathman, Stacie Herrera, Shane Moriarty, Tate Moriarty, and Riley Moriarty; her beloved sister Margie Bowen; her wonderful sisters-in-law Mary Bleiker of Texline, TX, Julia Munger and husband Jim of Boerne, TX, Theresa Keener and Husband Paul of Albuquerque, NM, Brenda Huffman of Amarillo, TX, and many nieces and nephews for whom she had great affection.

Mary Ann will be deeply missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. She had an incredible sense of humor, an infectious laugh, and she was smart as a whip. She was a respected APS teacher spending the majority of her career teaching English and Social Studies at Grant Middle School. After retirement, she and her husband Dan traveled the world with friends and family. She loved keeping up with her children and grandchildren and valued every opportunity she got to spend time with them. She brightened our world with her love and kindness and will forever be remembered for the love and happy memories she created for us.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 12:00PM - 3:00PM Sunday, September 1, 2024 at the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 4120 Cutler Ave NE, Albuquerque, NM 87110. We encourage you to wear bright colors to honor her wonderful personality.

In lieu of flowers, we know she would be in favor of donations to your local Ronald McDonald House Charity.
