I think my Mom was feeling insignificant of late given that she was confined to a wheelchair and was struggling with cancer. I fear she thought she hadn't lived up to her full potential.
A dear friend recently addressed my Mom's concern that she hadn't lived up to her full potential. She mentioned that, prior to meeting my Mom, she thought external measures of success were the purpose of life, such as money, accolades, and possessions. However, about the time she met my Mom, her perspective shifted. She now believes that internal measures of who we are "being" - how much peace, love, joy and freedom we feel and show are much more important. It is how we manifest in relation to ourselves and to others that are the true measures of success.
She went on to state that inwardly, my Mom was a priceless jewel. She felt that the Spirit in my Mom was manifested in the only measure of success that really counts - LOVE!
In memory of my Mom I would say - Lean into life with your heart, and you can achieve great things!

I was thinking about Sally and wondering what she was doing having lost track of her when I moved away. I´m sorry to hear that she passed. She was such a delight to be around and had a wicked sense of humor that kept us all laughing in spite of all that she went through in life. She was one in a million!

I didn't know Sally Benedict but the obituary written for her and about her is one of the most beautiful obituaries that I have ever read.
