Sandra L. Padilla

Sandra Louise Padilla, passed away peacefully on May 9, 2025, at the age of 47 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was a loving mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. Sandy was best known for her infectious smile, quick wit, and unwavering warmth towards all who crossed her path.

Born on December 3, 1977 in Albuquerque, NM, Sandy was the beloved daughter of Robert and Louise Padilla. From an early age, she was best known for her fun-loving and thoughtful nature, always bringing humor, and joy wherever she went. Her life is defined by boundless enthusiasm, deep compassion, and an enduring devotion to family.

Sandy proudly served her country in the United States Army. She was active in the hot air ballooning community. She also enjoyed baking cakes for her loved one's birthdays.

Sandy is preceded in death by her mother, Louise Padilla. Sandy is survived by her daughter, Sophia Sollien; her father, Robert Padilla; her siblings, Patricia (Jason) Follingstad, Dominic Padilla, and Anthony Padilla, Paul (Georgette) DeTrana; her beloved nieces and nephews, Alisan (Rick) Thompson, Mackenzie (Cecelia) Follingstad, Emily (Matthew) Raygoza, Adrian (Evelyn) Follingstad, Skyler DeTrana, Ashley Padilla, Timothy Padilla; and her great nieces and nephew, Aurora, Isabella, Annika, and Mateo.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 27, 2025 at 9:00am at Nativity of our Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church 9502 4th St NW, Albuquerque, NM 87114.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to support Sandy's daughter Sophia Sollien.
