Shirley Smith Obituary
Shirley J. Smith passed away August 25, 2024. She was born in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania in May 1933. She began her teaching career in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. In 1959 she traveled to Albuquerque where she continued her teaching career at John Adams Middle School, Highland High School, Del Norte High School, and La Cueva High School where she retired.
A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, September 19, 2024, at 1 PM at French Funerals on Wyoming.

Ms. Smith was my Latin teacher and one of my favorites from La Cueva! I took Latin from her for three years and I have great memories of her strong wit and compassion. She was a wonderful teacher and shared with our class her love of travel and history.
