Stephen Gregory Taylor

10/13/1950- 3/8/2025

Stephen Gregory Taylor passed away on March 8, 2025, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, in the home he shared with his son and his son's fiancee. He was 74 years old.

Born in Spokane, Washington, on October 13, 1950, to Janice Montague Taylor and Jack Elmer Taylor, Stephen grew up in Utah and graduated from Ogden High School. He went on to study at Weber State College and later at the Berklee School of Music, where he deepened his lifelong love of music.

A gifted saxophonist, Stephen spent his early career touring across the United States and Canada with various bands. His music was not only his profession but a reflection of his spirit/vibrant, soulful personality always searching for connection. Later in life, Stephen's curiosity and adaptability led him into successful careers in car sales, computer programming, and web design.

Stephen was deeply proud of his many years of sobriety, a testament to his strength and resilience. He also cherished his heritage and his connection to Clan Cameron in Scotland, carrying that pride with him always.

Of all his achievements, nothing meant more to Stephen than being a father. His relationship with his son, Jack Taylor Pettigrew, was the great joy of his life. Their love for one another was immeasurable and remains his most enduring legacy. Stephen was preceded in death by his beloved partner, Kim Pettigrew, his parents, Janice and Jack Taylor; and his sister, Tracey Louise Taylor. He is survived by his son, Jack Taylor Pettigrew his fiancee Nadia Nourestani of Albuquerque, New Mexico, his sister Diane Therese Taylor and her husband Daniel Edward Skipwith, and his nephews, Kelly Taylor Skipwith and Clancy Taylor Skipwith of Alaska.

Stephen's life was marked by creativity, resilience, and love that will continue to echo in the hearts of those who knew him. He will be missed but never forgotten.
