Steve Chavez Obituary
Steve Chavez, age 62, a lifelong resident of Corrales, NM passed away on June 10th, 2018.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Vivian and Lillian Chavez & sister, Vivien Chavez Seals. He is survived by his daughters, Cassandra Jennings and Tyler Chavez (Scott); his partner, Karen Martin; his brothers, David Chavez (Sharon), Rudolph Chavez (Gloria), Michael Chavez (Brenda).
Steve owned and operated the Sandia Bar in Corrales. He was an exceptional hunter and fisherman. He was well known for his bull riding and bullfighter skills. His skills as a team roper sent him to the National Finals.
A Celebration of Life and Potluck will be held July 8th at the American Legion Post 69, 9000 4th St., Alb, NM from 1-4 pm. In lieu of flowers please send donations to Cowboys for Cancer Research (C4CR.com) or C4CR PO Box 202 Dona Ana, NM 88032

I am sincerely sorry for your loss. May the God of comfort be with you. I'd like to share a beautiful scripture found in Phillippians 4:6,7. It reminds us of how powerful a prayer can be and how if we do, God will give us the peace that is above all other for these difficult times.

Steve created and maintained a confluence of characters within the Sandia for many years. His warm smile and serious handshake welcomed many to his family business. This classic watering hole will miss his presence, yet Steve's spirit of congeniality will be ever present.
