Valerie Atkins Obituary
Valerie Atkins, age 58, passed away at her home quietly and peacefully in the afternoon of May 7th, 2022, surrounded by her family, Mark, Morgan, Courtney, and Brandon Atkins. Valerie was born in Landstuhl, Germany (Ramstein AFB) on June 14th, 1963, to Donna Anne Phillips Vickers and William Williford Vickers, Colonel (Ret.) USAF. Valerie grew up seeing the world in a proud
U.S. Air Force family, she graduated from Highland High School in 1981 and earned her bachelor's degree from the University of Arizona in 1985. Valerie had a very distinguished career in the healthcare industry, working at Crawford & Co., JT Consulting, and most recently as the Director of Health Information Management at Central Desert Behavioral Health Center.
Valerie was happiest when spending time with her family and friends. She relished her time making lifelong friends at the University of Arizona, going on vacations with friends and family, and enjoyed laughing throughout every created, cherished memory.
Valerie is survived by Mark Atkins, their children, Morgan, Courtney, and Brandon Atkins; by her brother William Vickers and wife Janice Shallin; and by her aunt Nancy
Segars.
A celebration of life and reception for family and friends to honor Valerie will be held from 3:00 to 6:00 pm on May 22, 2022, at the Atkins house. Please visit Valerie's online guestbook at
