William Vincent Hinds

William Vincent Hinds, 81, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, peacefully passed away on November 11, 2025 surrounded by family and loved ones.

Born on May 28, 1944 in Raton, New Mexico, Bill spent his youth between Raton and Santa Fe, New Mexico and graduated from St. Michael's High School in 1962. Bill followed his passion for rodeo throughout his life and was recognized by the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) as a professional cowboy (RCA) from 1962 to 1964 in bareback riding and bull riding. He was honored for his commitment, dedication, and support of rodeo, as well as for his past achievements as a PRCA contestant in the sport.

Early in his career, Bill worked for the New Mexico Department of Transportation as a draftsman, and later joined Bovay Engineers, Inc. where he proudly worked for many years. Bill explored his entrepreneurial spirit in the entertainment industry, working in artist management and concert promotions, arranging many top acts to perform in New Mexico. Returning to his engineering background, Bill served as Owner and CEO of Hinds Environmental, Inc., in Albuquerque, New Mexico, until his retirement, earning the respect of his colleagues through his strong work ethic and genuine care for the people he worked with throughout his career. He was active with the United Way and Albuquerque Chamber of Commerce.

Beyond his professional pursuits, he took great joy in playing guitar and pedal steel guitar, gardening, and spending meaningful time with his family, friends and pets.

Bill was a beloved husband, devoted father and grandfather, and cherished friend. He lived a life marked by kindness, strength, humor, generosity, and dedication, and he had a positive impact on everyone who knew him.

Bill is survived by his loving wife Patricia (Pattie) Hinds of Albuquerque and her son Scott Grosso and wife Kim Cox of Phoenix, former spouse Sheila Leverett of Albuquerque and their children, daughter Sheli Hinds Armstrong of Albuquerque/Santa Fe, son Patrick Hinds and wife Tyler Stone of Los Angeles, granddaughter Addison Armstrong of Santa Barbara, sister Betty Hinds Powell of Tulsa and her family, cousin Joe Dennis and wife Elena of Santa Fe and their family, and many other beloved relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Vera (Pelaccio) Hinds and Fred Hinds, and his loving grandparents Tony and Annie Pelaccio.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to their dear friends and the staff at AmberCare for their support, guidance, compassion, kindness and humor.

Services will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2026 at 11AM at UNM Alumni Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Animal Humane, New Mexico. which was close to Bill's heart.
