Brent Mouton Obituary

Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 15, 2018 at a 3:00 p.m. Liturgy of the Word in Evangeline Memorial Gardens Chapel in Carencro for Brent J. Mouton, age 48, who passed away Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at Ochsner Foundation Hospital in New Orleans. The Rev. Bill Melancon, pastor of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, will officiate at the services. Brent J. Mouton was a native of Carencro, where he lived and devoted much of his life. He was a 1987 graduate of Carencro High School and was very proud to place 2nd in the State Wrestling Championship during his senior year. He also received his Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from U.L.L and was a Certified Public Accountant. Brent was a coach and mentor for many children crossing his path through wrestling and was an amazing coach and father to his daughters: "the rules of life can be learned through a simple game of softball." He valued the simple things in life, his family and his friends. He enjoyed a good game of pool with his friends and spending time with his wife and girls. "Spread your wings as you go, and when God takes you back, He will say, "Hallelujah, you're home."" Survivors include his devoted and loving wife of fourteen years, Lacey Cormier Mouton of Rayne; two daughters, Lexie Ranae Mouton and her fiancé, Tony Pascual, of Lafayette and Gabrielle Marie Mouton of Rayne; his mother, Kathy Quebedeaux Mouton of Carencro; three brothers, Chad Michael Mouton and his wife, Jessica, of Carencro, Mark R. Mouton and his fiancée, Tami Courville, of Carencro and Rusty Mouton and his wife, Layla, of Lafayette; one sister, Amy Mouton Guidry of Carencro; his sister-in-law, Christine Guilbeaux and her husband, Dale; and his nieces and nephews, Lauren Mouton (Godchild), Emily Mouton, Kalin Mouton, Brayden Mouton, Carley Mouton, Mya Mouton, Jack Mouton, Isabella Guidry, Cruz Guidry, Claire Guilbeaux, Jordan Guilbeaux and Meghan Guilbeaux. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Mouton, Jr. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. Friday in the funeral home. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. Friday and will continue from 9:00 a.m. until service time on Saturday. Pallbearers will be Chad Mouton, Mark Mouton, Rusty Mouton, Tony Pascual, Rusty Knight and Brayden Mouton. Honorary pallbearers will be Cruz Guidry, Jack Mouton, Jody Lormand and Ricky J. Guilbeaux.
