Pastor Todd Menard will conduct the funeral services. Survivors include his mother, Lorinda (Lori) Butchee Gallet (Kirk); his father, David O. Trahan (Annette Skinner); his biological father, Laurence H. Wiley (Angela); two daughters, Brooklyn Alan Wiley Trahan and Karah Nichole Wiley Trahan; his step-daughters, Malani Cooper and Parker White; his step-son, Darren Chase Cooper; his former wife and the mother of his children, Crystal Hoffpauir Trahan (Apphia Jordan); his half-brothers, Richard "Butch" Easton Trahan (Ashley), Jimmy Joe Grundy (Marina), and Larson Daniel Harris Wiley; and half-sister, Leanna Charmaine Wiley; his aunts, Traci Butchee Patin (Ray Domingue), Lea Trahan Hawkins (Joe), Jeannine Trahan Meaux (James), and Leslie Wiley Parker; his uncle, Richard E. Butchee, Jr.; and his paternal grandfather, Loubert G. Trahan. Brook also leaves behind his best friend and life partner, Amanda LeBouef, and his cherished Godchild, Blaze Leger, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends he loved dearly. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Richard E. Butchee, Sr. and Cindy Craven Butchee; his paternal grandmother, Anna Claire Camel Trahan; his biological grandmother, Gloria Wiley Harris; his step-grandfather, Wayne Harris; his biological grandfather, Alfred Eugene Wiley; and his cousin, Michael Matthew Butchee. Brook was born in Houston, Texas, on March 24, 1978, settling in Lafayette in 1981. He attended Erath Middle School, Milton Elementary, Comeaux High School, and Teurlings High School. Brook's love of sports involved playing baseball and football. He was an avid Saints fan; the Super Bowl win in 2009 was a highlight of his life. Brook worked several years at Aluminum and Stainless with his Uncle Butch; he then moved into the oilfield as a welder. He pursued a culinary career with a passion for cooking during the last few years of his life. Brook was looked upon as a friendly, caring, gentle, and comical person with much love for his children, family, and friends. He enjoyed producing soundtracks as a hobby. Unfortunately, for two decades, Brook's attempt to overcome a cyclic battle with a disease of drug addiction was lost. Knowing his giving and compassionate nature, Brook's family agreed to submit his organs for donation. Helping others live by way of his death will be his legacy of honor and heroism. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Carrying Brook to his final resting place will be Richard E. Trahan, Jimmy Joe Grundy, Darren Chase Cooper, Tylor Patin, Easton Kade Trahan, Jeremy Meaux, and Nicholas Leger. Honorary Pallbearers will be Collin Hawkins, Stefan Hawkins, Larson Wiley, and Blaze Leger. In place of flowers, friends and family can make memorial contributions in Brook's name to ARCH Acadiana of Lafayette, LA (https://archacadiana.networkforgood.com/projects/86489-arch-donations) or LOPA.org (Louisiana Organ Procurement Agency). The Trahan family extends a heartfelt appreciation to the doctors, nurses, social workers, and staff of the CICU at Legacy Emmanuel Medical Center of Portland, Oregon, for their over-the-top dedication and compassionate care.
