Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, June 18, 2021 at a 2:00 pm Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rayne, LA, for Edward Neal Leger, 53, who passed away on June 14, 2021 in his hometown of Rayne, LA. Inurnment will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery #2, Mausoleum in Rayne, LA. Rev. Benjamin Pitre, Parochial Vicar of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rayne, LA will be the Celebrant of the Memorial Mass and will conduct the funeral services. He was born on July 12, 1967 in Rayne, Louisiana to Willie Louis and Jeanette Guidry Leger. In 1985, he graduated from Notre Dame High School in Crowley, Louisiana, and he studied political science at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Edward was in the Army Reserve from 1985-1993 and was on active duty during Operation Desert Storm. He was a loving, caring man who enjoyed spending time with his family, learning about history, watching James Bond movies and classic TV, and cheering for his favorite sports teams, namely the LSU Tigers and the Boston Red Sox - there may not have been a bigger "Bosox" fan on Earth. He was a cherished father, son, brother, uncle, Godfather, and grandfather. Survivors include his daughter, Elizabeth Leger Morgan and spouse Brandon Morgan, one granddaughter, Clementine Morgan, his former wife, Anastasia "Annie" Leger of Crowley, mother, Jeanette Guidry Leger, three sisters, Debra Leger Green and spouse Scott Green, Cheryl Leger Neu and spouse Jay Neu, Helen Leger Campbell and spouse Mark Campbell, uncle/godfather, James "Jimmy" Leger, two godchildren, Christina Gautier, godchild, Jacob Neu, numerous nieces and nephews as well as numerous other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Willie Louis Leger, maternal grandparents, Eloi and Anne Guidry, paternal grandparents, Adonicien and Edith Leger, aunt/godmother, Ella Mae Guidry Foreman, numerous aunts and uncles. A Rosary will be prayed Friday, June 18, 2021 at 11:00 am in Gossen Funeral Home in Rayne LA.
