Karolyn Anne Harris

Karolyn Anne Harris,76, departed this life on Friday, February 12, 2021 at her residence in Lafayette. Karolyn was a kind, sweet and loving daughter, sister and friend. She was devoted to her brother George and her many close friends, and they were devoted to her. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 20, 2021 at 2:30 PM at the Knights of Columbus Hall, located at, 515 Rena Drive, Lafayette, LA. 70503. Karolyn was born in Houston, Texas and was a graduate of Lafayette High School, Class of 1962. After high school, she returned to Houston where she was employed for a number of years before returning to Lafayette to work for Marathon Oil Company. She retired from Marathon in 1999. In her youth, Karolyn loved to ride horses, but her greatest passion was gardening. She spent her days tending to the plants and flowers that filled her beautiful yard and home and which brought her great joy. Her second passion was football. She loved the Acadiana Wreckin' Rams and the New Orleans Saints, in that order. Her brother was a Rams coach and she attended nearly every Acadiana game, home or away. Karolyn was a voracious reader and she loved to travel. She loved music, Art and Cinema and shows about the natural world. Her passing has left a permanent void in the hearts of her brother and friends. She will be terribly missed. Karolyn is survived by her brother, George Harris of Lafayette; her niece Kristine Harris Morton; and her great niece and nephew, Kate Morton and Luke Morton.
