Rita Romero Hulin

Funeral Services for Mrs. Rita Romero Hulin will be held at 10:30AM on Monday, June 28, 2021, at St. Anne Catholic Church with Fr. Michel Russo Officiating. Interment will follow at St. Anne Cemetery. Visitation will be at David Funeral Home of Lafayette on Sunday, June 27, 2021, from 10:00AM until 9:00PM with a recitation of the rosary at 7:00PM. Visitation will resume on Monday, June 28, 2021, from 8:00AM until the time of the services. A native and lifelong resident of Youngsville, Mrs. Hulin died at 4:16PM on Friday, June 25, 2021, at Carpenter House in Lafayette surrounded by her beloved family and friends. Although she considered herself blessed to have a loving family, it is her family who were truly blessed to have her for 90 years. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. She enjoyed going to bingo, playing cards with friends, and just passing a good time. She is survived by three sons, Ronald Hulin and his wife Gloria of Youngsville, Darrell Hulin and his wife Donetta of Youngsville, and Jeffrey Hulin and his wife Maggie of Youngsville; four daughters, Joycelyn Bourque of Youngsville, Brenda Trimble of Youngsville, Sharleen Maturin and her husband Warren of Coteau; and Flo Dean Lopez and her husband Edwin of Youngsville; fifteen grandchildren, thirty great grandchildren, and ten great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald J. Hulin; her parents, Ozife and Editha R. Romero; two sons in law, Gabriel Bourque and Wille Trimble; and one great grandchild, Jacob Trimble. Serving as pallbearers will be Shane Trimble, Ronnie Hulin, Dustin Plaisance, Dylan Bourque, Willie Trimble, Jr., Damian Trimble, Connor Hulin, and Tanner Hulin. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Ronald Hulin, Darrell Hulin, Jeffrey Hulin, Colt Grace, and Xander Arcement. The family would like to send special thanks to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Heart Hospital of Lafayette, St. Joseph Carpenter House, Dr. James Dobbs and all the staff for bringing comfort to Rita and her family.
