Terry Marie Trahan Broussard

A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, August 25, 2021, at 11:00 am at Fountain Memorial Funeral Home in Lafayette for Terry Marie Trahan Broussard, 72, who passed away Friday, August 20, 2021, at The Carpenter House of St. Joseph Hospice in Lafayette. With regards to the most recent mandates of the current pandemic, masks and social distancing are required for gatherings in the funeral home and in the cemetery. Visitation will be observed at Fountain Memorial Funeral Home in Lafayette on Tuesday evening, August 24th from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm and resumes on Wednesday, August 25th from 8:00 am until the time of service. Interment will follow in Fountain Memorial Cemetery in Lafayette. Pastor Linton Broussard, of The Bayou Church in Lafayette, will officiate. Terry was a lifelong resident of Lafayette and a graduate of Lafayette High School, Class of 1967. After graduating high school, she went to work in retail for a local beauty supply shop and later for Sears Roebuck and Company as a sales associate and switchboard operator. She left work to care for her parents and became the BEST housewife and stay-at-home mom ever. Much later she was promoted to "stay-at-home Granny", her most rewarding job of all. Her faith in Christ made her strong as she fought and beat breast cancer, not once, but twice. She valued family and knew the time spent with them was priceless. A very hands-on and loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend, Terry had a special gift of caring for her loved ones and her loyalty and commitment could not be deterred. With an energetic and charismatic personality, she never met a stranger. Some of her favorite pastimes included socializing, dancing, shopping, playing card games, watching cooking and home renovation shows, but most importantly, spending time with her family. Terry was a dedicated and loving wife who is survived by her beloved husband of over 40 years, Thomas James Broussard, of Lafayette. She was blessed with three children, Kale Dwayne Veronie and his wife Candace, of Maurice, Tara Marie Miller and her husband Kevin, of Lafayette and Tiffany Marie Broussard, also of Lafayette; four grandchildren, Kayla Veronie, Cole Veronie, Lily Hebert and Luke Miller, as well her brother-in-law, Marion Cortez. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dua "Toby" Trahan and the former Annabelle Romero, an infant brother and one sister, Tracy Cortez. Pallbearers will be Kale Veronie, Cole Veronie, Kevin Miller, Page Cortez, Lane Cortez and Carl Pettit. Honorary Bearers are Kayla Veronie, Lily Hebert and Luke Miller.
