Tracy Paul Daspit

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at a 2:00 pm Liturgy of the Word in La Chapelle de Martin & Castille in Lafayette, for Tracy Paul Daspit, age 53, who passed away on Friday, October 18, 2024, in Austin, Texas. The family requests that visitation be observed in Martin & Castille's Downtown Location on Saturday, October 26, 2024, from 12:00 pm until time of services. Deacon Marcel "Butch" Hebert will officiate at the services. Inurnment will be held in Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum in Lafayette at a later date. Survivors include his sister, Toni Daspit Bodoin; two brothers, Terry Daspit and Toby Daspit; sister-in-law, Sherrilyn "Charlene" Perry; nieces, Amy Daspit and Rhiannon White (Troy); great-nephews, Bailey Suire (Brandy), and Alec Smith; great-great-nephew, Levi James Suire; aunt, Jo Ann Latiolais (Greg); and uncle, Albert "Benny" Daspit. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Anthony Daspit, Jr., and Anna LeBlanc Daspit; one brother, Tommy Daspit; maternal grandparents, Sampson LeBlanc and Mabel Gravouia LeBlanc; and paternal grandparents, James A. Daspit, Sr., and Fern Arceneaux Daspit. Tracy, a native of Lafayette, LA, and current resident of Austin, TX, was a dedicated tennis professional. He graduated from Northside High School and the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. He most recently served as a tennis professional at Barton Creek Country Club in Austin, TX. Over the years, he shared his love of tennis at several prestigious clubs, including Tchefuncta Country Club in Covington, Pelican Athletic Club in Mandeville, Renaissance Health and Racket Club in Houma, Oak Knoll Country Club in Hammond, and Bowles Tennis Center in Lafayette.
