Edmond Earl Simmons

On January 28, 1951 Edmond Earl Simmons was born to the late Lillie LeSure Grays and Elijah Simmons Sr. in Tate County, Mississippi.
Earl accepted Christ as his personal savior at an early age at the Liberty M.B. Church in Coldwater, Ms. He later joined Zion Hill M.B. Church in Hernando, Ms., under the leadership of his grandson Rev. Dr. J.Q. Wooten Sr. of whom Earl thought the world of. He would often say, "Wherever my grandson go, that's where I will be. That boy can preach." He faithfully served the church until his health failed. Even after his health declined, Earl was a faithful tither and gave consistently.

Earl graduated from Coldwater High School class of 1969. Earl was employed for years at Alumax as a supervisor. After retiring, Earl couldn't sit still, he got a job at the local Goodwill. Customers drove miles to just hear a good joke and laugh. Earl was truly the life of any party.

Earl is preceded in death by both his parents Elijah Simmons Sr. and Lillie Grays.

Earl leaves to cherish his memories: his "own self" daughter Oake Simmons of Coldwater, MS; two grandsons, Tyler Wooten of Coldwater, MS. and Rev. J.Q. (Countess) Wooten Sr. of Senatobia, MS; his 4 brothers, Elijah (Carla) Simmons Jr. of Jackson, MS, Ray (Pamela) Graham of Indianapolis, IN; Donald (Rita) Robertson of Las Vegas, NV, and William Graham of Memphis, TN; his two sisters Shirley Oliver of Memphis TN and Kathlyn Jones of St. Petersburg, FL. Earl, through a previous marriage, gained 3 step children of whom he loved dearly Kawana, Edrick, and Jody. And a host of other grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends. Earl also leaves his truck in which he overly loved and referred to it as the "BIG DOG"
