Jenifer Wrigley Obituary
Coleman Funeral Home of Olive Branch
Jenifer Wrigley, 67, of Olive Branch, MS passed away on Saturday, October 18, 2025 after a long journey with ovarian cancer. Friends are invited to a visitation with the family on Saturday, October 25, 2025, from 10:30 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., with the service to follow at 12:00 p.m., all at Christ Presbyterian Church of Olive Branch. Pastor Logan Almy will officiate.
Jenny was born on May 14, 1958, in East Lansing, MI but grew up in Auburn, AL, becoming a life-long Auburn Tiger fan. After graduating from Auburn High School, she attended the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill, earning her B.S. in Nursing. She married Sam shortly after graduating from UNC and they began what would become over 45 years of life together. Jenny loved Sam and was his perpetual cheerleader and partner. She wrangled four kids on multiple military moves, always eager to explore new adventures together as a family. The family ultimately settled in Olive Branch, MS.
Jenny was a life-long learner, a continuous reader, and was passionately curious about the world. Whether it was nursing, Lamaze, Latin, homeschooling, or yoga, Jenny tackled topics that interested her and quickly became an expert. She had an encyclopedic knowledge of plants, birds, world history, and church history. She self-taught herself Latin, delighting in word etymology and the classics. She was also adventurous, travelling across the globe from Asia (living pre-internet in the Philippines) to Europe (Scotland was a favorite) to Africa (serving communities in Malawi and West Africa). Jenny learned to surf in Hawaii, got her yoga teacher certification, and emerged a Jeopardy champion after qualifying for the show.
Jenny's greatest love was her Savior Jesus, followed by her family. Jenny was the kind of authentic Christian that surprised people, because she put faith and kindness first. Her kids remember with chagrin when she invited a family of Roma to live in her house because she saw them in a grocery store parking lot with a sign that said they need help. She instilled in each of her children a love for each other and a love for learning. Her greatest joys were listening to her children and enjoying time with her grandchildren. At times, she would retreat to another room or a faraway seat while her kids were talking, and just when you thought she was distracted, she would demand "talk louder!" so she could listen to the conversation.
Jenny is survived by her husband, Sam: and children, David (Annie), Sarah (Matt), Tom (Samantha), and Emily (Alex); and brother, Jay, along with six grandchildren: Madison, Macy, David, Samuel, Jonathan, and Hallie.
Jenny was preceded in death by her father, Harry James Amling; mother, Jeanne Hearn Amling; brother, Jeffrey Wallace Amling; and grandson, Noah Patrick Wrigley.
To her family and all her friends: she goes before you, but expects you to join her in eternity. And anyone who knew her knows she hated formality. She would offer a thought, an opinion, a story, and then look in your eyes, reading your thoughts, and shrug a little and say "Be Free." Jenny found freedom in Christ, and she is now also free from cancer. And her families look forward to seeing her again, whole and happy to comment on all the conversations.
