Michael Melton Obituary
It is with heartfelt love and cherished memories that we announce the passing of a beloved father, grandfather, and friend, who left this world peacefully at the age of 67.
As a devoted family man, Mike is survived by his two sons, Kevin Lynn Melton and his partner, Karrah Morgan, and Jonathon Michael Melton; his daughter and son-in-law, Sarah and Jon Lewman; and five wonderful grandchildren, Luke, Logan, Will, Madi, and Sawyer, who were the light of his life. He also treasured his bonus grandchildren, Hadlee, Austyn, Collier, and Granger, who brought additional joy and love into his world. His pride in his family was matched only by the joy he found in watching them grow, laugh, and chase their dreams.
He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Ferrell and Sandra Melton, and two brothers, Brad Melton and Greg Melton, whom he held dear in his heart. He is survived by his sister, Scarlet Melton Jenkins, who carries forward their shared memories and family legacy. He also leaves behind Sharon Melton, mother to his sons and a cherished part of his life story.
Known for his quick wit and sharp sense of humor, Mike could bring a smile to anyone's face and never missed a chance to share a laugh. His warmth and laughter made him a joy to be around, and his presence brought comfort to those who knew him.
A true outdoorsman at heart, Mike spent countless mornings in the stillness of nature, duck hunting at sunrise and casting a line for crappie on peaceful waters. The outdoors was his sanctuary, and he cherished every moment surrounded by God's creation-whether in the blind, on the lake, or simply enjoying the fresh air.
Mike's legacy is one of love, laughter, and an appreciation for the simple, beautiful things in life. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who were lucky enough to share in his journey.
Having rededicated his life to the Lord, he now rejoices in heaven with his loved ones and friends who were waiting to welcome him home. May his lines always stay tight, and his skies forever be filled with flights of ducks. Until we meet again. Matthew 4:19 - "And he said to them, 'Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.'"
A visitation will be held at Covington Funeral Home on Saturday, November 8, from 2:00–3:00 PM, with a memorial service to follow at 3:00 PM.
