We'll remember you at the next Seder and teach the grandkids how to laugh like you laughed then. You were the best deer liver cooker in the state.

An often overlooked and unmentioned joy in living most of your adult life in Alaska is the wonderful gifts of the people you meet and get to know. Av Gross was one of those individuals who helped the Juneau community and Alaska grow in many ways. His intellect, his musical talent and creative offerings meant so much to so many people and organizations. It was my good fortune to have met Av way back when and while we often found ourselves on opposite sides of an issue, major or minor, it never dimmed the good humor and gentlemanly way he conducted himself. The Juneau community would not be he same today without his passage through our lives. My condolences and kindest wishes to his family. He was a good man.
