Beverly J. Henderson, 83, formerly of North Syracuse, passed away Saturday at St. Joseph's Hospital Health Center. Born in Syracuse, she spent her early years in East Syracuse before moving to North Syracuse.
Beverly was a licensed practical nurse at the VA Medical Center and Benjamin Rush Center, having received her nursing degree at the age of 48.
She enjoyed reading, Nintendo DS and crocheting. She was a feisty, quick-witted woman who lived life on her own terms.
Beverly was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Peter T. Henderson Sr., and sister, Mae Huband.
Surviving are her daughters, Eileen Robertson of Marcellus and Cheri Henderson of Liverpool; sons, Peter Henderson Jr. of Liverpool and John Henderson of Oneida; grandchildren, Cheri Naylor of Nedrow, Carl (Nancy) Robertson of Fairport, Tammy Lowe of Solvay, Christine (Dave) Collie of Mesa, AZ, Cassandra (Rich) Fagan of Frederick, MD, Scott Henderson of Brewerton and Collin Henderson of Oswego; great-grandchildren, Amanda, Megan, William, Alex, Zachery, Ethan, Andrew and Logan; and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may call Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m. at Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. Services will be 11:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Beverly will be laid to rest in White Chapel Memory Gardens, DeWitt.
