Brittney Sparks

1986 - 2018

Brittney Jamara Sparks was born on August 28, 1986 to Thelma Patricia Sparks and Steve Roosevelt Mchgee in Tuskegee, AL. God decided he wanted his angel back and Brittney was called home on July 20, 2018 in Anchorage, AK. She was 31 years old.

She gave her life to Christ at an early age at Ephod Church in Montgomery Alabama, where she served in the ministry with her late Aunt Catherine Wright. She moved to Anchorage in 2012 where she became a manager in sales. Brittney loved art, listening to music, singing, hanging out with her friends and family. One of her favorite hobbies was doing hair. But her passion was being a mom to her 3 kids.

Brittney is survived by her three children, Malachi Rashaud Sparks (16) of Anchorage, AK; Courtney Demond Gaither Jr (10) of Anchorage, AK; Catherine Keyera Gaither (9) of Anchorage, AK; parents Thelma Patricia Sparks of Anchorage, AK and Steve Roosevelt Mcghee of Montgomery, AL; brother Reginald Walker Jr of Anchorage, AK; ex-husband Courtney Demond Gary Gaither Sr. of Anchorage, AK and a host of family and friends. She is preceded in death by her grandmother Eddie Lee Williams; Grandfather Hardney Williams and Aunt Catherine Louise Wright.

Brittney brought so much love and joy to everyone's life that knew or met her. Her energy was infectious, her radiant smile with those beautiful dimples will be truly missed. BJ was a rare gift from God. We thank him for her time we had with her. There will be a noticeable void with absence in our lives and heart.

A Celebration of Life will be held at The Church of God of Prophecy (403 N. Hoyt St. Anchorage) on August 3, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor A Lefler officiating. A reception will follow downstairs. Scattering of her ashes will be in Tuskegee, Alabama.
