Candace Clemmer Obituary

Anchorage, Alaska, resident Candace Clemmer passed away Oct. 6, 2014, at Alaska Native Medical Center with her husband, son and mother by her side. Candace was the beloved wife of Charles Clemmer, doting mother to their son, Skylar, and a devoted "auntie" to her nieces and nephews. Candace took pride in her role of wife and mother, homeschooling Skylar. A talented artist and decorator, Candace loved decorating her house, making their living space a warm and inviting home. She loved beading, jewelry making, fishing, cooking and reading. Her family said of Candace: "Candy's love of life and laughter were contagious. Having a joyous laugh, when Candy laughed, everyone just had to laugh with her. She often saw humor in situations where other didn't see it and could soon have everyone laughing with her. We will surely miss her ability to make the most of any situation." Candace was born in Browning, Mont., on Sept. 19, 1969, to Clarke and Rebecca Smith. She moved with her family from Montana to Anchorage in 1983 and attended West High. She is survived by her husband, Charles Clemmer and their son, Skylar Clemmer of Anchorage; her parents, Clarke and Rebecca Smith of Beluga, Alaska; brother, Clarke Jr of Anchorage; sister Stacie Siver of Wasilla, Alaska; nieces, Jessie Burrell and her husband Lantz of North Carolina, and Vanessa Smith of California; nephews Dalton Weekley of Wasilla, Alaska, TJ Mustain of Anchorage, Tommy, Johnny and Anthony Wagenaar of Iowa; and a large extended family in Oregon, Washington, and Montana. She was preceded in death by her sister and best friend, "Biz" Smith, with whom she is surely now reunited. Her family would like to thank the staff at ANMC for the exemplary care she received during her extended stay there. Candace will be sorely missed by her family and friends who always knew they could depend on her for honesty and support. Never being a fan of funerals and "rituals" no service will be held at Candace's request and she would prefer that any flowers purchased be given to those you love with her blessing.

I just found this. My heart goes out to all you leave behind. You are at peace and out of pain. I can only hope sending healing energy helps Chuck, Skylar, Becky, Clarke, Clarke Jr, Stacey and all that were close to Candace move through their grief and loss. Love and positive energy.

It helps the pain thinking that perhaps Candace was met on the "other side" by Grandpa, Jason, Smokey, and Biz. Love you Becky, Clarke, Clarke Jr., and Stacy. Wished I could come up.
