I knew Chuck White at Idaho. We were both involved in College sports and I graduated with Chuck in 1964. He was all business and a tough competitor. Blessings

Chuck was a fierce competitor, both as coach and player, a nice man off the field but no holds bar on the court...It was always an experience to be on the same court but almost always with a Loss on my various team's record....Mike Scanlan

Chuck was simply a force! I competed against him in basketball in the 60's in the old city gym where city league games had big crowds. What an athlete! 40in a game was nothing for Chuck. We tried our darndest to beat his team, no luck! Also many years of softball competition...always respected Chuck.

Coach, you were an amazing man in and out of class. Your kindness and generosity will surely be missed near and far. You helped so many of us grow up and be able to express some of the same kindness that you displayed to us. The heavens truly have an angel in you. You are missed every day and you will forever remain in our hearts. Thank you for all that you taught us.

I have grown up looking up to Coach White from my Dads basketball stories playing against the legendary Coach White. When I got to East High School I was a bit nervous as he was such a powerful figure. I learned during High School everything I heard of his toughness was true but that he was also a great man with a big heart. In my family my sister Stephanie and I both had Coach White as a teacher and he has been a unforgettable person in our lives & we are so truly thankful for getting so lucky enough to have had him as a teacher.
I have loved every minute I spent with Coach White and I have loved every Welt from bruises I received during wiffle ball at Gym Classes with Coach WhiteAnyone who had his class will know what I mean by that! He helped toughen us up & Im thankful.
He helped us get ready for life.
Years After I was out of School I would see him walking down the street as I was driving and I would get excited as I could tell it was him a mile away as he just had that presence about him. I would be honking the horn waving hoping he know it was me and hoping he knew I loved him.
So Coach White-I give you one last wave goodbye and thank you for being amazing and unforgettable and for doing great things in the World.
To Coach Whites Loved Family and Many Loved Ones & my Dear Friend Louis Wilson you are in my prayers.
God Bless you Coach White.
Love,
Steve,Claudia & Stevie MacSwain

Always loved Coach. He referred to me for 4 years as Chrissy poo! I'll never forget him as the goalie in hockey class, doling out pushups as he saw fit! RIP Coach

What a great guy. My dad was a basketball referee when Coach White was at East back in the 70's - he could blow up a gym. I remember watching him throw a chair one time. His size made you think twice about arguing with him - but when he walked off the court he was a teddy bear. I hope he meets my dad in heaven and they have a great time reliving some of the games. Sad day in Alaska High-School Basketball.
