Christopher Brian Morgan, 45, died suddenly of a heart attack while setting up his drums for a show at Four Corners in Palmer, Alaska, on June 26, 2015. Chris was born in Bethel, Alaska, on March 12, 1970. A talented drummer and guitar player, "Catfish" Morgan will be remembered for his creativity, his wit and his kind soul. Chris was a graduate of the Musicians Institute, a member of the Kiss Army, an established Anchorage Foodie and self-taught computer guru. A member of countless bands over the years, including The Funky Eskimos, Pump, Northern Distortion and most recently Breed, Chris could play any instrument, any style of music and any song. His talent on the drums made him the pounding heart of any band. He'll be remembered by many as the first Eskimo Rockstar. Survived by his parents, Joli and Ina Morgan, and his brother, Kevin, Chris joins his grandparents, George and Martha Keene, Claudine Branch and George Bryan Morgan. There will be a viewing at Janssen's Evergreen Memorial Chapel, 737 E Street in Anchorage, Alaska, on Wednesday, July 1, 2015, from 10 a.m. to noon. The funeral will be held in his hometown of Bethel, Alaska. God may have given rock and roll to you, Chris, but you gave rock and roll to all of us. Arrangements are with Janssen's Evergreen Memorial Chapel.

Hi,
I recently made contact with a former teacher from the Musician´s Institute in LA. He said he knew a few people from back in 1988 when I attended. I sent him a list of people I knew back then, but had since lost contact with. One of whom was Chris. It had come into my head that he was from Bethel, Alaska. My name is Ben and back when I was at GIT, the guitar part of Musicians Institute, I lived with my parents in Aberdeen, Scotland. I was a friend of Chris. I´m so sad to hear of his passing. I can picture his smiling face now. He seemed such a happy guy. Best wishes. Ben

Miss you terribly during Christmas. You have spent it with us for eight years. I will treasure the one from last year. You opened your presents and put them on right away like your Apii. Chris....I miss the "hi auntie"....not once did you call me crazy....atleast not in front of me. Everyone time i said..i love you...you never answered and just gave that so popular humph of a giggle you had....but the last time we talked...you said you loved me too....quyana. We remember Chris with such a nice smile and always willing to help my husband and I with our computers. He would never get frustrated or impatient with our unending questions.

We had planned on "one day" hearing him play in the band. Now he is playing in the Heavenly Band!

I found Chris through a computer company for which he worked. He continued to work privately on my computers long after he left the computer company. We spent many hours talking about music, about his playing, and about the joys of music in our lives. Chris was an amazing man, and I am ever so glad that I was able to spend time with him. Music won't be the same without Chris and his excitement about playing music. Many blessings to your family during this sad time.
