Conchita Fagtanac Obituary

Conchita Intal Fagtanac, 60, passed away on March 19, 2015, at Alaska Regional Hospital Services will be held at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, March 25, 2015, at Cremation Society of Alaska, 7216 Lake Otis Pkwy. in Anchorage, Alaska. A viewing will be from 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. Pastor Val Natcher will officiate. Fellowship will take place afterwards at the Filipino Bible Church, 3340 Raspberry Road in Anchorage. Conchita was born on Oct. 11, 1954, in the Philippines. She attended flight attendant school. She married Joevis Fagtanac on April 27, 2004, in Quezon City, Philippines. Her important happenings in life were her two beautiful daughters and three sons, the birth of her many grandkids and spending the last days of her life with her companion pet cat, "Munkey". Conchita has been a resident of Alaska since 1974, living in Kodiak and then Anchorage, working for TSA at the Airport. She attended the Filipino Bible Church and First Assembly of God where she helped in the food pantry. Conchita loved to travel, garden, spend time with her grandchildren and catchup with close friends. Her family wrote, "There was nothing better than Mom's home cooked meals, especially when it came to Filipino food. My grandma is a kind and loving person. She was full of excitement. We didn't have many family gatherings, but when we were able to she would always make them a day to remember. She always had love in her heart and a passion for helping others." She is survived by her husband, Joevis Fagtanac of the Philippines; brothers, Fransisco Intal of the Philippines, and Rodrigo Intal of Hawaii; sister, Marina Intal of Hawaii; daughters, Maricel Carpio of the Philippines and Erica Marinay of Alaska; sons, Rodelio Carpio, Rodney Sapalo and Jerimy Sapalo, all of Alaska; grandchildren, Louie Opena, Luisa Opena, Leonard Opena and Danlie Organista, all of the Philippines, and Jorden Carpio, Katelynn Carpio, Cesar Marinary Jr., Christian Marinay, Dezmon Sapalo, Wanda Surratt, and Taylor Barber, all of Alaska; and many nieces and nephews. Conchita was preceded in death by her parents, Josephine Aradanas and Thomas Intal; and her late husband, Theodorico Sapalo.
