Dan was born October 20, 1967 in Bellevue, Washington to Keith and Shirley Kendall. He is of Tlingit and English decent. He was in the Brown Bear Clan and his Tlingit name is Ye'es aan Kawdihaan. He entered Chamberlayne Jr. College in Boston, MA at age 16. He received an Associates of Science degree, and received an electrician certificate from Coyne Electric School in Boston, MA at the age of 18.

Dan was a certified electrician, but he was also a talented handyman. He could fix anything around the house. He mentored his nephew Allan on fixing things. He was very artistic, and enjoyed making beautiful chokers and drums. Dan could not get enough Tlingit dancing. He loved dressing up and painting his face to dance. He tried to attend every Celebration in Juneau. He was always friendly and rarely met anyone he didn't like. Dan was great at hunting and fishing. He succeeded at every sport he played. He loved traveling, and has visited many places around the world.

Dan is survived by his mother and father, Shirley and Keith Kendall of Anchorage; his brothers Karle and Wayne Kendall of Anchorage; his nephew, Allan Kendall; and nieces, Danielle and Kellinda Kendall all of Anchorage; his aunt, Adeline St. Clair of Hoonah; and numerous cousins in Hoonah and Juneau; also the Kendall brothers in Fairbanks. Many friends will miss Dan from all the places he lived: Kirkland, WA, Everett, WA, Hoonah, AK, Juneau, AK, Seattle, WA, Boston, MA, Pasadena, CA and Tampa, FL. He was adored by many and will be greatly missed.

My deepest sympathies to the Kendall family. Daniel was a nice guy to grow up with. Before or after church, when us teenagers got together to talk, Daniel was often there with a smile on his face ready to listen or crack a joke. He will be missed. - Dan Wegh
