Danielle McMorris

Danielle Rose Adams McMorris: wife, mother, humanitarian, activist passed away on December 8, of ovarian cancer at Alaska Regional Hospital. A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 20th at Leake Temple Church at 430 N St. in Anchorage.

Danielle was born on November 1st, 1987, to loving parents, Bernard Thomas Adams and Leslie Adams, at Alaska Regional Hospital. Danielle grew up in Wasilla, the second of 3 children. She attended Finger Lake elementary, Colony Middle School, and Burchell High.

She enjoyed long hikes, fishing, and camping. She was a very proud Alaskan. She was also a very benevolent, caring and empathetic person who never passed up a chance to help anyone. Like paying for a homeless persons meal, or giving a complete stranger a much needed hug. Danielle was strong mentally, physically and spiritually. When she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in July 2011 she didn't say, "why me?", or become ashamed, she became an activist, telling her story to any and everyone that would listen, including KTUU.

Her family said, "like an angel Danielle spent her last days bringing family and friends together. Danielle used to always say, "stand for what's right, even if you're the only one standing". Danielle's passing is a loss not just for her friends and family but for the world. Lets spread love to everyone as Danielle would want."

She leaves behind a husband, Larry, and son, Cairo. Her mother, Leslie and stepfather, Natan; sister, Cynthia and brother, Chevi and Aunt Dina. Her very dear friends, Jessica and Cara and countless others. Numerous cousins, aunts and uncles in Kentucky, California, Chicago, and the Philippines. And last but not least her Grandma Joyce and Grandpa Lindley.
