David Borges Obituary

On Jan. 22, 2015, David Michael Borges, age 57, went home to be with the Lord after a short illness, with his loving wife, Sandy, at his side. David was born on Jan. 13, 1958, in Oakland, Calif., to Lester and Rosemary Borges. He was a proud member of the U.S. Army and worked most of his life in the plumbing and construction field. He came to Alaska nine years ago, first to Fairbanks and then to Anchorage. He met Sandy on March 23, 2011, at Northern Lights Baptist Church. It was love at first sight for her. They married on Sept. 2, 2011, and were best friends and constant companions. David was an avid football, baseball and hockey fan, and also enjoyed bowling and shooting pool. His other interests included eating and sleeping. He was a member of Northern Lights Baptist Church and faithfully served on a bus ministry bringing children to church. David is survived by his wife, Sandy; his mother, Dolly; his son, David II; daughter-in-law, Jessica; daughter, Brittany; granddaughter, Shia; stepchildren, Stacy and Brad, Ben and Sara, Kelly and Erin; and their children, Brittany, Morgan, Lindsey, Heather, Kim, Lucy, Isla, Jemma, Jenna, Cody and Kelsey; along with many friends and family at Northern Lights Baptist Church, Lowes, and everywhere he went. David was a loving husband, father, G-Pa and friend. He will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know him. Services will be at Northern Lights Baptist Church 1120 E 13th Ave. in Anchorage, Alaska. Visitation will be at 11 a.m., with the service beginning at 12 p.m., on Thursday, Jan. 29, 2015. He will be laid to rest at the National Cemetery on Ft. Richardson. Romans 8:38-39 KJV Arrangements were by Janssen Funeral Homes.

When I think of David, I think of his wife Sandy, they were inseperable. He was so friendly, and helpful. Always the gentleman, that David. Your smiling face has left us all with a smile.

David Borges, GORGEOUS BORGES , as he was called by many friends here in the bay area, was missed when he moved away. Now that he is dwelling in the house with the LORD, he will be truley missed by all that knew him and loved him. He was loved by many with his charm and smile. Many people that saw us together thought that we were brothers....at heart we were.I loved David, and our many friends, Tony Youngs, Bill Hand, Ben Banduraga, Mal Acosta, Max Caracol, just to name a few of the close ones also loved him and will miss him.THANK YOU FOR THE WONDERFUL MEMORIES MY BROTHER, I LOVE YOU AND WILL MISS YOU FOREVER, DAVE MILICHICHI.

David would always take my bag and help me into the church when I would visit. He had a great personality and you could see he loved the Lord. I will miss seeing him at church.
