Dayle Hoffman

Dayle passed away on Nov 1st 2012 at Mat Su Regional Hospital. She was born Dayle Viola Armistead on December 28th 1940 in Rupport, Arkansas to George Winston Armistead and Alice Iniz Watson . She was the great great granddaughter of George Armistead who was the commander of Fort McHenry during the battle of Baltimore in 1812 when the Star Spangled banner was written. She was the youngest of brothers and sisters that included Bill, Jim, Randy and sisters Hazel and Willie. Dayle moved to Alaska in 1962 and rode out the great earthquake of 64. She married Donald B. Hoffman and between them had 13 children. They worked in the apartment rental business and built and remodeled several homes together. Don and Dayle enjoyed traveling to Mexico and Central America and their trips to Las Vegas. She enjoyed the holidays where family and friends always gathered. Dayle was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Bill and Jim. Children Rene, John, Kathy, Ronnie, and Leo. She is survived by her husband Don Hoffman and their children Michael, Don, Tim, Robert, Mike, and Greg and daughters Linda and Trish. She loved her numerous grand children and will be missed dearly. Services will be Sat the 10th at Alaskan Heritage Memorial Chapel in Wasilla at noon with the viewing starting at 11 a.m. There will be a gathering at her Sutton residence after the service.
