Donald Stewart Obituary

Donald's Homecoming Long time Anchorage, Alaska, resident Donald Stewart was called home on Sunday, Aug. 16, 2015. A celebration of life service will be held at Turning Point Community Church, 1612 Oceanview Drive in Anchorage, on Aug. 22, 2015, at 2 p.m., with a reception held immediately after the service. Donald was blessed to be a twin born on April 4, 1966, in Magnolia, Miss. Donald earned a Vocational Education Diploma specializing in Building and Trade from South Pike High School in May of 1984. After high school, Donald moved to Anchorage. Donald was a member of Turning Point Community Church. Donald often gave rides to people wanting to attend church. He had a heart for giving and helping others. He opened his home to visitors from out of state who needed a place to stay until they found employment. Donald had a passion for people, camping and salmon fishing: whatever he caught, he shared. Donald will be missed by his family, church family, friends and coworkers. Donald had a true gift of working with his hands in many occupations, but Donald's passion was for mechanic work: by simply listening to a vehicle, he could tell what was wrong with it. Donald enjoyed working on vehicles and he would work on them with family members. He was preceded in death by his mother, Leoney Stewart Fuqua; grandparents, Ellen Carmel and Nathaniel Stewart; uncles, Joe, Marshall and Nathaniel Stewart Jr.; and aunts, Mattie Robinson and Bernice McEwen. He leaves to cherish his memory his children, Alexis Stewart; and stepdaughters, Sheree and Brandi Allard; his siblings, Deloise Odom (Javis Odom), Dudley Fuqua, Gillis Fuqua (Shantel Fuqua), Carruth Fuqua, Edna Jean Cockerham (A. J. Cockerham), James E. Stewart (Diana Stewart), Donnis Stewart, Delbert Wayne Robinson (April Robinson), Wanda Robinson and Russell Stewart (Patricia Stewart); and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Donald was a good country person. He was always smiling, smart with working on vehicles, helping people and had a pure heart. We will miss him a lot. His favor pharse when meeting people: "How are you doing young lady or young man."

My thoughts and prayers to his family! He was such a giving person I met him when my son went over there about getting his car fixed. Was told he was the best mechanic and could fix any problem with vehicles. I have since lost my son. I can picture the two of them catching up on lost time. You will be missed

Donald was my neighbor for many years. He was a good man and always had friends and family at the house watching him work on vehicles, including mine. He always had a smile for everyone and a very kind and tender soul. I will always remember Donald for those qualities. "Ya your right"Donald, you will be missed by all that loved you.

Please pray for the family.
My husband and I had been looking for Donald for several years saw his sister at Wal-mart and got the phone number. Spoke to him just a few weeks ago about he and my husband getting together. Mercy he will be so missed. My heart breaks and a pray strength for the family. May God keep you all. He will truly be missed. I have known Donald and family since he worked for my Uncle Henry Burton. Loved Donald like a brother and he truly will be missed by me and my children and husband we just spoke to him on the 3rd of Aug about getting together. My prayers to his family and love one.
