Edward Yazzie

Edward "Eddie" Duane Yazzie, 24, died May 19, 2010, in Anchorage.

Family wrote that he went to be with the Lord.

A service for Eddie will be 3-5 p.m. Thursday at Muldoon Baptist Church. Eddie will have another service at 6 p.m. Friday at Kluti-Kaah Hall in Copper Center, with burial the next day.

Eddie was an Alaska resident from birth on Nov. 17, 1985, moving between Anchorage and Copper Center. He worked at many fast-food locations throughout Anchorage. He loved to barbecue, draw, build models, write and sing his rap lyrics. Eddie was a member of First Native Baptist Church and volunteered his time at Airport Heights Elementary School.

Eddie was a loving son, father, brother, uncle, grandson, nephew, and friend to numerous people. He was well known throughout Alaska and affected not only the young but the elders as well. He had an infectious laugh that played along well with his prankster side. He always had a smile and wanted the best for everyone.

Eddie was preceded in death by his twin brother, Cory Alvin Ross Yazzie; his father, Edward Charley; his grandfather, Albert Charley Sr.; and his great-grandparents, Walter and Mamie Charley, Dorothy Yazzie, and Maggie Eskilida.

Eddie is survived by his significant other, Karen Williams; his daughters, Candice Ella Yazzie, Emma Austin, Eileen Austin and Amaya Austin; his sons, Dimetrious Austin and Xavier "Bubba" Austin; his mother, Phyllis Yazzie; his adopted father, Alfred Johns; his sister, Natasha Rose Gesselles; his grandparents, Lynn and Christine Craig, Elmer and Darlene Yazzie, and Ella Charley; his aunts, Kathy "KC" Charley and Bonnie Yazzie; and his nieces, Natalia Yazzie, Mireya Gesselles, Malia Gesselles, N'Kara Boyles and Barbara Bayless.
