Eiko was an amazing person, the summers that I spent with her will never be forgotten. If it wasn't for her, I would have never been a pro origami maker and filled her and my grandpa's house up with paper cranes. I would have never been introduced to red velvet cake, chop sticks, miso soup, rice wrapped in seaweed, Uwajimaya, and so much more. She will always be in my heart and never forgotten. I am sorry for you loss.

Sho and Kathy and family: thank you for letting me know that Eiko passed away. I remember her as a caring and loving Mother and granddaughter to Granny Brown who loved her in return and accepted her into the family and that is the way I got to know her. I enjoyed being around her in those early years in Opp. She was a very smart woman. With heartfelt sympathy, Delores Busbee Merrill
