Esther Venes Obituary

Esther Lois Venes, "Bunny," was born in White Mountain, Alaska, on Sept. 21, 1944. She passed peacefully on Jan. 5, 2018, surrounded by family. She was an amazing woman, mother and grandmother. Bunny was kind, loving and compassionate.
In 1946, she moved to Akiak, and later to Nyac, Alaska, where she was raised by parents Helen and Joe Venes. She was the eldest of nine siblings. She attended her early school years there, and later attended Mt. Edgecumbe High School in Sitka, before graduating in Bethel, Alaska.
After graduating from high school, Bunny went to beauty school in Anchorage, Alaska. Over the years she worked many jobs, but her true passion was working for the airlines. She was a customer service agent for Sea Air, Reeve and Era Aviation, and as a travel agent.
In 1992, she was reunited with her life-long childhood friend Frank Jones. They spent many years enjoying each other's company, laughing, traveling, boating and enjoying life in Bethel with their family and friends.
Bunny loved her granddaughters and spent as much time as she could with them. They were her pride and joy. She treasured her time with her nieces and nephews, as well.
Bunny is survived by her companion, Frank Jones; daughter, Dolly; son-in-law, Steve Bush; and granddaughters, Katrina and Kennedy Bush; brother, Joseph (Sonny) Venes and wife Irene; sisters, Louise and husband Frank Charles, Lillian and husband Lyman Hoffman, and May and husband Raymond Hoffman; and numerous nieces, nephews and relatives.
Bunny is preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Helen Venes; and brothers, Thomas, Edwin, Robert and Donald Venes.
The family would like to thank everyone for their contributions and kind words.
