Frank Williams Obituary

Frank Alan Williams of Anchorage, Alaska, passed peacefully on Jan. 2, 2018, of natural causes in his easy chair, at the young age of 56 years.
Frank was born in Fort Hood, Texas, on April 1, 1961, to Frenchie and Faron (Eakin) Williams. He grew up a sixth generation Texan in Waco surrounded by generations of his mom's family. His dad's family was from nearby northern Louisiana for generations. This deep family background helped shape Frank's strong fiber and made him the man that people came to respect.
Around 1968, Frank's family relocated to the Tri-Cities area of Washington. He attended Eastern Washington University, where he met the mother of his children, Alan and Megahn, and graduated with a degree in Medical Administration.
A job offer from Providence Medical Center in Anchorage as a Hospital Administrator brought Frank to Anchorage. As an Eagle Scout, Frank loved the outdoors and was excited to head to Alaska.
For 20 years, Frank was a key employee at Anchorage Chrysler Dodge Center, where he was Finance Manager and Vice President. Frank was a special person to work with, and he easily connected with just about anyone he met. Coworkers and customers admired and trusted him; he was a person whose opinion was valued.
Frank enjoyed fishing, and he and his friend Bob Rima purchased a small nonoperational fishing lodge in Cooper Landing, Alaska, in February 1998. Together, they transformed the property into Kenai River Drifters Lodge, now a notable destination on the Kenai River. It is a place for Alaskans and visitors traveling from around the globe to experience Alaska fishing, rafting and hiking.
Frank enjoyed traveling frequently and loved watching Hallmark movies at home. He was an ardent lifelong Dallas Cowboys fan and loyal NRA member.
Frank lost his son, Alan M. Williams in 2009. Frank is survived by his daughter, Meghan Lanell Williams and her three children, Damion, Adrian and Ian of Shreveport, La. He also leaves to mourn his loss two brothers, Bill Williams of Soldotna, Alaska, and Tom Williams of Washington. His sister, Margie Lavon Trainor, lives at Minden, La. Frank is also survived by his longtime friend, Bob Rima. Frank is further survived by one niece and eight nephews: Anna, Tommy, Justin, Randy, Michael, Nicholas, Derick, Alex and Casey.
Frank's daughter Megahn writes: "My dad never missed any of the big moments of my life, even though he lived so far away. He was there when I was born, when I graduated from high school, and he was there when my son, Damion, was born. He was there when my 14-month-old Adrian was born in 2016. He was there again two months ago when my youngest son, Ian, was born. I love that my dad never wanted to miss any of my life all the way to the end of his. This is only a glimpse of the amazing love and bond between a father and his daughter - between my Dad and me. I'm so blessed to have had 30 years to be a great man's daughter, and to have had a big role to play in his world. I will always remember the life lessons he taught me, and will continue to incorporate these great lessons into my children. This way, a great man can live forever through us."
Frank chose cremation; a visitation/prayer service will be held at Saint Anthony's Catholic Church on Monday, Jan. 22, 2018, from 5 p.m. - 7 p.m. St. Anthony's is located at 825 Klevin Street (behind Costco on Debar) in Anchorage.
A Celebration of Life is scheduled in the spring at Kenai River Drifters Lodge in Cooper Landing. A short ceremony will be held at 3 p.m. on May, 13, 2018.

Although I never had the opportunity to meet Frank, I had the privilege of meeting Bob Rima who always generously supported Project Healing Waters Anchorage. Our thoughts and prayers are extended to Frank's family and friends who will miss him dearly.
