Dr. George Dalianis

DR. GEORGE F. DALIANIS, age 83, born in Kalamata, Greece, fell asleep in the Lord April 3, 2015. Beloved husband of the late Rose (née Melonides). Loving father of Ares (Dina), Alexis (Dr. Timothy) Kaiser, Patrice, and Father Panteleimon (Presbytera Konstantina). Adored grandfather of Trianna, Marika, Anastasia, Cyril, George, Eleni, Elias, Blaise, Xenia, and Trifon. Son of the late Aristides and Alexandra (née Papatsioris) Dalianis. Cherished brother of Mary (George) Aravosis, Katherine (Spiro) Besbekos, Silvia (Tom) Tsoutsouris. Dear brother-in-law of Katherine (David) Orals and the late Spero (the late Francine) Melonides. Treasured uncle of many nieces and nephews and friend to many. His podiatry practice, the Portage Park Foot & Ankle Clinic, was a fixture of the neighborhood for over 50 years. He was a dedicated servant of the Greek Orthodox Church, invested as Archon of the Eucmenical Patriarchate. He was the first Chairman of the Midwest Committee of the International Orthodox Christian Charities and served on the National Board. He served as a member of the Parish Council of St. John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church. He was committed to the success of the field of podiatry, and served as a clinical instructor and benefactor of the Dr. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine. He was proud of his Greek heritage and served on the Board of Directors of the United Hellenic American Congress for decades. He was also the General Chairman of the Greek-American Parade and Greek Heritage Week in 1988. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, traveling the world with his wife, Rose, and being with his family. Visitation Wednesday 4:00pm to 9:00pm at Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home 6150 N. Cicero Ave., Chicago. Family and friends will meet Thursday morning at St. John The Baptist Greek Orthodox Church 2350 E Dempster St (at I-294 Tollway), Des Plaines, IL for funeral service at 11:00am. Interment Elmwood Cemetery. By his request, kindly omit flowers.
