Glenn Tallman Obituary

Glenn David Tallman, 61 , of Anchorage, Alaska, and Washington, N.C., died suddenly from natural causes on Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2016, at his mother's home in Verona, N.Y. He was born on May 20, 1955, in Patuxent River Naval Station , Md., the son of Elmer Charles and Marion Stook Tallman. Glenn graduated from V.V.S in 1973, and served in the U.S. Navy from 1973 to 1977 with the VAW 124 in Norfolk, Va. He was an aircraft mechanic on the USS America. After the service, Glenn attended Riverside School of Aeronautics in Marcy, N.Y. He also worked for Empire Airlines in Oriskany, N.Y. Glenn has been an aircraft sheet metal specialist for Alaska Aircraft Sales in Anchorage, Alaska, and Donald's Airpark in Pantego, N.C. Glenn was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Verona and the New London-Vienna Masonic Lodge #420 F&AM. Glenn enjoyed sailing and being in the outdoors. He was very devoted to his family. He is survived by his mother, Marion Tallman; one daughter, Jamie Collins of Rochester, N.Y.; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Dale and Beverly Tallman of Anchorage, Alaska, and Timothy J. and Denise Tallman Claremore, Okla.; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2016, at the Prince-Boyd & Hyatt Home for Funerals Inc., 210 W. Court St., Rome, N.Y. Relatives and friends may call at the Home for Funerals Wednesday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. A memorial service will be held in Anchorage, Alaska, at 5:30 p.m. on Sept. 30, 2016, at Alaska Aircraft Sales Hangar, 4131 Floatplane Drive. Memorial contributions may be made to Alaska Airmen's Association, 4200 Floatplane Drive, Anchorage, AK 99502; or American Heart Association.
