James Atzenhoffer Obituary
November 18, 1955 to September 16, 2016
James Allen Atzenhoffer, 60, of Canyon Lake, Texas, died September 16, 2016 after a long battle of pancreatic cancer. He was born in Beaumont, Texas and grew up in Houston, Texas before moving to Canyon Lake in 1997.
James is preceded in death by his father, Anthony "Big Tony" Allen Atzenhoffer Sr.; mother, Genevieve Clavier Atzenhoffer; and sister, Sandra Kay Atzenhoffer Young.
James is survived by Frances, wife of 39 years, and his three children: Jason Scott Atzenhoffer and wife, Susan of New Braunfels, Texas; daughter, Rachel Atzenhoffer Schuman and husband, Bobby of Katy, Texas; and son, Jared Wade Atzenhoffer of Canyon Lake, Texas. James also has four wonderful grandsons: Wyatt Allen Atzenhoffer (8), Parker Scott Atzenhoffer (6), Preston Wade Atzenhoffer (1), and Kye Allen Schuman (7).
James is also survived by sister Patricia Ann Atzenhoffer Miller of Canyon Lake, Texas; brother, Anthony "Lil' Tony" Allen Atzenhoffer, Jr. and wife, Angela of Bedias, Texas; along with uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Arrangements have been made at Doeppenschmidt Funeral Home in Canyon Lake, Texas. Viewing will be on Tuesday, September 21, from 4:00 to 8:00pm. Rosary will be at 7:00pm, and a memorial service on Wednesday at 10:00am.

James was my go-to home inspector when I was a Realtor in Canyon Lake and he always did a great job. He was so proud of his family and loved to talk about his daughter's softball games.
I will always remember James' phone call on September 11th when he told me that the United States was under attack. He was the first one to tell me about the tragedy that began that day.
I mourn his death and know that his family has many wonderful memories of him.

Frances, may God bless and comfort you and your children and their families during this time of grief. We are so sadden to hear of the loss of a husband, father, and grandfather. We know James will be truly missed by the entire family. Seek God and he will comfort you. James has been called upon to end his journey on earth and begin a new journey.
