James Goard Obituary
Memorial Hospital.
A memorial service will be held 2:00PM Saturday, April 28, 2012, at
Chapel of Chimes Funeral Home, 415 Illinois Street. A second service
will be held in Anchorage on May 10th, 4pm, at St. Elizabeth Ann
Seton, 2901 Huffman Road.
James was born September 21, 1948, in Portland, Oregon to Gerald and
June Goard. They came to Fairbanks in 1955 for one year and then
moved to Anchorage and James returned to Fairbanks in 1999. James
served in the United States Navy during Vietnam. His family states,
"James was a successful entrepreneur and brought happiness and joy to
many people he came in contact with."
He is survived by his wife, Tracy of Fairbanks; daughter, Courtney of
Las Vegas; sons, James Cole of Wasilla, Alaska, Trever of Texas;
mother, June Goard; two brothers; three sisters; and numerous nephews,
nieces, great nephews, and great nieces.
James was preceded in death by his father, Gerald Goard; and daughter,
Cassandra Goard.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Tanana Valley, 2001
Gillam Way, Fairbanks, Alaska 99701.
Arrangements are entrusted to Chapel of Chimes Funeral Home.

Jim will be missed. We are cousins from our Mothers side. We grew up together in the early days, we were like brothers, both having sisters in the family in the early days. We had fun times playing as kids, finding (cotton) under new construction housing and stuffing it under our shirts. I still remember the day waving as his family left Oregon and drove to Alaska. We always stayed connected, even from a distance. I went to Japan for R&R because Jim was there. We always had disagreements about something, but we always got through it always remaining friend. Heck! we were more to each other then just friends and cousins. We were brothers. I will always Love my brother. I will miss his being on earth and will see him again someday. With Love Kell P. I knew Jim when he first came to Fairbanks and then shortly after my family moved to Anchorage just after his did. He was always a friend and will be missed dearly by me All the best to the family of a great guy. Timothy M Sullivan Sr
