Jeffrey A. Diggs

1964 - 2016

Jeffrey "Jeff" Allen Diggs, 51, passed away on Thursday, March 3, 2016, at home in Anchorage, Alaska, after a battle with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). He was born on May 25, 1964, in Pauls Valley, Okla., to Bob and Patty Diggs. He will always be remembered for his witty, dry sense of humor and his love for the outdoors. Jeff lived in Anchorage for 28 years. He was a funeral director and embalmer and had been the manager of Kehl's Forest Lawn and Witzleben Mortuaries. He completed training as a medical assistant and finished his career at First Care Medical Center in Anchorage. He is survived by his wife, Cynthia "Cindy" Miller Diggs of Anchorage; three children, Jeremy Diggs and wife Chelsea, Meghan LaFawn and Morgan Nation Diggs of the home; one sister, Lisa Diggs Ashworth and her husband Jay of Coppell, Texas; mother, Patty Diggs Copeland of Pauls Valley, Okla.; grandmother, Thelma Dell Welch Diggs Nation of Tulsa, Okla.; his vibrant grandchildren, Aden and Haley Diggs; Cindy's parents, LeRoy and Paula Miller; brothers and sisters and their spouses; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins; and many, many, many friends. A celebration of his life will be held on Wednesday, March 9, 2016, at 5 p.m., with visitation until 6:30 p.m., at Kehl's Mortuary, 11621 Old Seward Highway, Anchorage, AK, 99515; 907-344-1497; http://www.legacyalaska.com/. He was preceded in death by his father, Bobbie Jean Diggs; and stepdad, Joe Leslie Copeland. He graduated from Alaska Career College in 2007, in Anchorage; Dallas Institute of Funeral Service in 1986, in Dallas, Texas; and Pauls Valley High School in 1982 in Pauls Valley, Okla.
